Technical Vehicle Examinations
Vehicle examinations may be required for a number of reasons. In respect of damage to a vehicle an examination may be necessary to establish:-
- What the vehicle struck or if indeed it was involved in an accident
- The speed of the vehicle at the moment of impact
- The direction of the impact
- The movement of the struck object
Another reason for examining a vehicle may be to establish if any defects were present at the time of the accident that may have caused or contributed to it.
It should be stressed that this is not the same as a MOT test. It is something that should only be undertaken by persons trained in that specific task.
Damaged vehicles can be very difficult to examine but with a methodical approach it is normally possible to examine most components.
